Description
The project will improve 111 bus stops within Northwest Jacksonville. Of the total, 17 stops are located along Soutel Drive in the area of the City's planned road diet project. The City's Road Diet project includes converting four lanes to three lanes; improving pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure. Stops will be upgraded for ADA compliance and appropriate amenities in line with ridership needs. This project also provides additional improvements to bus stops by focusing on locations near transit dependent properties (i.e., assisted living facilities) in underserved areas of the county, including the Northwest Jacksonville area. Improvements include new amenities (shelters, poles, leaning benches, etc.) and lighting.
